Initialement intitulé « BACK THAT UP (DO IT) », le titre a été enregistré en 2014 et devait figurait sur la tracklist de l’album REBEL HEART. Finalement non retenu, ce titre sera retravaillé en 2019 et ajouté en bonus à l’album MADAME X. Mais contre toute attente, le titre original devient viral sur TikTok en septembre 2022 devenant alors le titre le plus recherché sur Spotify qui publie le titre sans autorisation; C’est ainsi qu’en décembre 2022, Interscope Records décide de sortir officiellement le titre, incluant une version « speed-up ».

Pour annoncer et soutenir cette sortie, MADONNA réalise un clip sur la version « speed-up » pendant lequel elle danse au milieu d’enfants du Malawi et du Kenya, ainsi que de ses propres enfants venus avec elle en Afrique à l’occasion de son voyage caritatif.
