Avec ce titre et l’arrivée de son 3ème album studio, Madonna est particulièrement attendue et n’hésite pas à se transformer ! Fini les crucifix, elle apparaît avec une image plus claire, des cheveux mi-longs blonds et un maquillage plus subtil. 1er extrait de son album TRUE BLUE, ce titre restera sans doute comme la plus belle ballade de toute sa carrière et remporta un important succès, en plus d’avoir été apprécié par la critique. Madonna utilise également ce titre pour promouvoir le film « At close range » dans lequel joue son mari Sean Penn. La vidéo qui appuie la chanson présente une Madonna assagie et plus mûre, mais aussi des scènes du film.
