Ce titre est le second extrait du dernier album en date de Madonna « American life ». Il s’agit de son 1er single depuis 1982 à manquer le top 100 du Billboard américain. En effet, le titre a été officieusement boycotté par les radios américaines, en réponse à l’opposition de Madonna à la guerre en Irak. Cela n’a toutefois pas empêché la chanson d’être un succès en Europe et de remporter un réel succès dans les clubs du monde entier.
Le titre s’appuie sur une vidéo réalisée en juin 2003 par Jean-Baptiste Mondino dans laquelle est représentée la superficialité du milieu artistique hollywoodien. Madonna danse munie de différents accessoires dignes de séances de photographie de magazines de mode, et se fait également injecter du botox réservé aux nantis de ce monde.
